Burmese "White/Lavender" Jadeite Earrings #2
$225,00
These are made from beautiful high grade white/lavender jadeite from Burma. The color in these is white with lavender and mix of light green. These are "bookmarked" to similar patterns on both earrings but there is not much pattern in these. This is slicing the jade side by side and then lining up the earring template to match on the two slices. They are shaped as a long tryangle. They are uniform in thickness and considered my standard flat surface earrings but they are very large earrings. All edges have been rounded and polished. The flat surface is highly polished and very reflective. I spend a lot of time on the detail of all my items which makes these a very nice high quality nephrite jade pair of earrings.
One picture shows height against "inch" ruler.
The ear wire is heavy 24 karat gold plated over Sterling Silver.
Comes with clear Hypoallergenic Ear Wire Guards not shown in pictures.

Material History
Burmese "Myanmar" Jadeite Information:
Burmese jadeite is the most recognized “Jade” in the world. Burma, now recognized as Myanmar, has a questionable past by a country in turmoil and abusive practices of mining in the past. The best jadeite in the world comes from here but as of recent, some comparable jadeites have come from Guatemala. Today, the most common treated jade materials come from this location. Dyes and resins are commonly used after stripping and bleaching the material. Knowing how to tell the difference between treated jadeite and natural has become a skill used by professional carvers to ensure “Real Type A” jadeite is being used and sold.
About
MY EARRINGS: Most of my earrings are made to enhance the colors and translucency of the jade/material they are made of. They can be cut thin to very thin so that when light enriches them, they glow. I also do this with some styles where the thin edges may glow. Some materials love light, some, the more opaque materials can show the colors in both light and darker environments. Most of my earrings are "book marked" with means cutting side by side to have similar patterns on both earrings. I also always take consideration of the weight of the earring for more comfortable wear. All these design considerations are hopefully to your delight.
** Note: Many items stated to be "Jade" on Etsy and Ebay are not. In many cases, price does not indicate this either so buying an expensive item may be a jade replica like glass. There are many other stones including agate, grossular garnet, serpentine (many forms), aventurine... being sold as jade. To make it worse and more complicated, many jadeite stones are being reconditioned and died to be very attractive so they pass general tests to be real. If you see very clear bangles, odds are they are agate, glass or something else. If you see very bright colors of red, yellow, purple... most likely not real. I say this as many buyers are being fooled on-line by these practices.
