Siberian "Honey" Nephrite Jade Bead #6
$450.00
This Bead is shaped with a slight high middle crest that is not simply tapered to the ends from the middle but is slightly concave from the center to the ends. This is a mixed colored Bead with the lighter "honey" colors being most prevalent on the ends and a darker "honey" color in the middle. This was designed on purpose to be like this so the ends glow in bright light. Great looking bead and like other Siberian "Honey/Butterscotch" items, they always are a conversation pieces as the color is extremely rare and unusual.

Material History
Siberian Nephrite Jade
The Sayan Mountains near Lake Baikal, in central Siberia, is the primary source of Siberian nephrite jade, with secondary mining occurring along the Onot River, south of nearby Irkutsk. Although some of the finest quality nephrite jade is formed here, Siberia’s severe weather conditions and inconsistent production means the raw stone is only accessible for two to three months of the year at most. Although Siberian nephrite jade can be leek green with minute flecks of black iron, it also comes in shades of white, off-white or brown shades or chatoyant (cat’s eye jade), black and a pale blue/green. Almost all colors in high quality are sought after with the whites, light greens and blue/green being the most sought after. Finding any material is difficult now days.
About
Proud to say one of my specialties at Jadedivers.com is making one of kind custom beads found almost no where in the world. Most of my beads are going to have cone tapered ends that are deburred and polished. My photos are taken to show the natural colors without photo enhancements. I believe this will best represent the colors and promote repeat customers.
** Note: Many items stated to be "Jade" on Etsy and Ebay are not. In many cases, price does not indicate this either so buying an expensive item may be a jade replica like glass. There are many other stones including agate, grossular garnet, serpentine (many forms), aventurine... being sold as jade. To make it worse and more complicated, many jadeite stones are being reconditioned and died to be very attractive so they pass general tests to be real. If you see very clear bangles, odds are they are agate, glass or something else. If you see very bright colors of red, yellow, purple... most likely not real. I say this as many buyers are being fooled on-line by these practices.
